Michelle Vesterby is going for gold at the World Championships in Amsterdam

Michelle Vesterby går efter guldet til VM i Amsterdam

Danish triathlete Michelle Vesterby, at 37 years old, has won 13 medals in various triathlons and Iron Man competitions around the world. The next competition she is focusing on is the 2021 World Triathlon Long Distance Championships Almere-Amsterdam. And she is aiming for a victory.

Michelle Vesterby radiates positive energy as she dives into the swimming pool, races on her bike, or ties her running shoes and heads out into nature every day – regardless of rain or sleet. Being a triathlete and participating in several Iron Man competitions each year – and winning, as Michelle Vesterby most recently did at Iron Man Lanzarote in July 2021 – is no small feat. With a swimming distance of 3.9 km, followed by 180 km of cycling and a marathon finish, triathletes must be extremely sharp both physically and mentally. In other words, you have to want it – and Michelle Vesterby does.

But even though triathlon is a serious sport, there is another very important thing that drives Michelle Vesterby towards her goals: the joy of training. Her motto is "keep smiling" and it is, among other things, written on the form-fitting pink suit Michelle wears when she crosses the finish line of a race. A motto she lives up to herself, as she smiles her way through not only daily training sessions but also competitions in scorching heat, heavy rain, and deafening wind.

Michelle grew up in the small Danish town of Herning, where she started playing sports at a young age. This first led to a career as an elite swimmer and later as a triathlete.

Today, Michelle Vesterby shares her journey to the podium on her Instagram profile @vesterbytri. Here she offers insight into both ups and downs, and at the same time provides motivating tips and tricks, as well as showing how one can be a cool coach, a good mother, and a medal-winning triathlete all at once. We at MIIEGO can only applaud that – and that's why Michelle is our ambassador.

THE REASON I LIKE MIIEGO IS BECAUSE IT IS A DANISH LOCAL BRAND AND, AT THE SAME TIME, OFFERS REALLY GOOD PRODUCTS. I LIKE TO HAVE SOME MUSIC OR A PODCAST WITH ME WHEN I'M ON THE GO. WHEN I'M OUT FOR A RUN OR TRAINING AT THE GYM, IT'S JUST AMAZING TO HAVE SOME SOUND IN MY EARS. AND MY EQUIPMENT HAS TO WORK. THAT'S WHY I USE MIIEGO.
